Delegation from University of Nottingham, Malaysia calls on UGC Chairman

 A delegation from University of Nottingham, Malaysia called on UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at the latter’s office on 22 January 2017 to discuss issues relating to College Education Development Project (CEDP).

College Education Development Project (CEDP) will be jointly implemented by the UGC and the National University for improvement of the standard of teaching, learning and governance of colleges affiliated with National University.

University of Nottingham, Malaysia under CEDP will impart training to the teachers of colleges of National University for their capacity building in areas of teaching and learning.

UGC Chairman Professor Mannan said that University Grants Commission of Bangladesh is relentlessly working to enhance the quality of education at tertiary level of the country. The government of Bangladesh is giving topmost priority to the education sector for attaining the status of developed country by 2041. He added that women enrollment has increased in the education sector over the years as the government has given special attention to the women education.

UGC will discharge its duties as facilitator in running the College Education Development Project under the dynamic leadership of National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Harun-or-Rashid. He wished the project a success and meaningful.

Zahidul Islam, Project Director, CEDP (Additional Secretary) and Mr. Asabur Rahman, Consultant, World Bank, among others were present at the meeting.
