A team led by UGC receives ‘Best Performance Award’ at South Asian Universities Festival-2017

A team comprising of 28 students from eleven different public and private universities and four officials from University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh participated in the 10th South Asian Universities Festival (SAUFEST)-2017 held at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyala, Indore in India on 28 February 2017 to 4 March 2017. The team was led by Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Joint-Secretary, UGC. Md. Shahin Siraj, Deputy Secretary, UGC, Mauli Azad, Senior Assistant Secretary and Md. Mustafejur Rahman, Senior Assistant Secretary, UGC were also included in the team as Manager. The students from Chittagong University, Khulna University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Comilla University, Bangladesh Textile University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology, Southeast University and BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology of Bangladesh took part in the Festival. The students from Bangladesh took part in a number of events including light vocal, solo song, group song, classical dance, elocution, poster making, photography, debate and clay modeling and received the best performance award in the festival. About 300 students from 10 countries participated at the SAUFEST. The SAUFEST is annually organized to establish mutual cooperation and exchange of ideas among the students of the universities of South Asian Countries.
