Seventeen universities sign agreement with UGC
Seventeen universities (sixteen public and one private) under round-4, window-1 signed agreement with University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh to implement 38 sub-projects for improvement of teaching and learning of the universities. Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), UGC has allocated Tk. 57.62 Crore against the sub-projects. The agreement signing ceremony was held at UGC auditorium today (30.04.2017).
Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Member, UGC chaired the function. Professor Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Member, UGC and Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Member, UGC were Spcial Guests. Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta, ndc, Project Director (Additional Secretary), HEQEP delivered the address of welcome. Dr. Md. Khaled, Seretary, UGC signed the agreement on behalf of UGC.
The Chairman of UGC urged the sub-project managers (SPM) to implement the sub-project money timely by properly utilizing the fund allocated for projects.
Professor Yousuf Ali Mollah, in his presidential speech urged the SPMs to properly follow the procurement rules for implementing sub-project.
The universities which signed agreement included- Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Chittagong University, Jahangirnagar University, Khulna University, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Scicence and Technology University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Jessore University of Science and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Sylhet Agricultural University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and Bangladesh University of Business and Technology.
Vice-Chancellors, Sub-Project Managers of the universities and high officials from UGC and HEQEP, among others, were present on the occasion.
