UGC allocates supplementary fund of Tk. 32.14 Cr. to nineteen universities against 48 sub-projects
University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh allocated supplementary fund of Tk. 32.14 Crore to nineteen public universities against forty-eight sub-projects earlier completed under Round-1, 2 and 3. In this regard, an agreement signing ceremony between UGC and the concerned universities was held at UGC auditorium today (15.05.2017).
Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Member, UGC chaired the function. Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta, ndc, Project Director (Additional Secretary), HEQEP was present as Special Guest. Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC signed the agreement on behalf of UGC. Ajit Kumar Debnath, Senior Procurement Officer (Joint-Secretary), HEQEP delivered the address of welcome on the occasion.
The Chairman of UGC urged the sub-project managers (SPM) to implement the sub-project money timely by properly utilizing the fund allocated for projects.
The universities which signed agreement included- Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Jagannath University, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Comilla University, Sylhet Agricultural University, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University.
Vice-Chancellors, Sub-Project Managers of the concerned universities and high officials from UGC and HEQEP, among others, were present on the occasion.
