KOICA delegation meets UGC Member Professor Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah

A-three member delegation from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) called on Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Member, UGC, at his office on 27 November 2017. Saang Keub LEE, Programme Officer, Economic Development Department, KOICA, led the delegation. Other members of the team were Yoo Jong-wha, Assistant Manager, Southeast Asia and Pacific, KOICA, and Md. Fazle Rabby, Programme Coordinator, KOICA, Bangladesh. Rashedur Rahman, Assistant Professor, University of Dhaka, was also present.

During the meeting, the delegation informed Professor Yousuf Ali Mollah that KOICA is willing to establish innovation and entrepreneurship center at Dhaka University. KOICA will gradually set up the Centers at a number of public and private universities of the country.  They will provide financial assistance in this regard. They also sought assistance from UGC for establishing the business incubators at the universities.

Professor Mollah assured the delegation that UGC will extend all kinds of support in this regard. He said UGC is eager to promote entrepreneurship programme at universities for enhancement of the country’s tertiary education. “It will be very effective and productive centre. We will play our role as monitoring agency.” He also said that UGC wants university-industry collaboration for enhancement of country’s development.

He also said that the government is working to formulate curriculum on entrepreneurship programme at the tertiary level.

Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC, Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Additional Director, International Co-operation & Collaboration, UGC and Md. Omar Faruque, Additional Director (Public Relations), UGC, among others, were present during the meeting.
