UGC Chairman will deliver keynote speech on ‘Victory Festival of Bangladesh’ in Kolkata

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, Kolkata has organised a 5-daylong ‘Victory Festival of Bangladesh’ at Netaji Indoor Stadium Kolkata on 15-19 December 2016 to brighten the image of Bangladesh in India especially in Paschimbanga. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of Paschimbanga, India will grace the function as the Chief Guest while Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Minister for Cultural Affairs, Bangladesh will be present as Special Guest on the occasion. The main discussion on the importance of Victory Day will be held on 16 December 2016. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh will deliver the keynote speech on this occasion.

Films made on Liberation War will be screened during the festival. Traditional Bangladeshi saris including Jamdani, Tangail Tat and Rajshahi Silk will be put on display. Besides, jute, jute products, handicrafts and other exportable goods will be exhibited in the festival.
