UGC Chairman underscores technical and engineering education for SDG’s
The inaugural ceremony of a two-day 5th international conference on ‘Mechanical, Industrial and Energy Engineering (ICMIEE 2018)’ was held at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on 23 December 2018.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of KUET organized the conference to create an effective platform for researchers and technical experts to share their recent ideas, innovations and problem solving techniques in the areas of Mechanical.
UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan graced the function as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain, Vice Chancellor was present as Chief of Patron, Professor Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder presided over the ceremony.
Addressing the programme, Professor Mannan said that Bangladesh needs more trained and educated people in technical, vocational and engineering education to take Bangladesh into next level of development.
He also said the current government has taken measures for the development of technical and engineering education in the country.
‘Qualitative improvement in technical and engineering education of Bangladesh will enable the country to become a middle income country by 2021 and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.’
About 150 participants from home and abroad are participating in the conference.
