Certificate awarding ceremony of foundation course for university teachers held at UGC
The certificate awarding ceremony of 21st foundation training for university teachers was held on 31 January 2019 at University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. Graduate Training Institute (GTI) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in collaboration with UGC organized the month-long training for the young teachers to develop their professional skills.
UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan graced the event as the Chief Guest while UGC Member Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah presided over it. UGC Member Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, its Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled, GTI Director A. K. M. Rafiqul Islam and its co-coordinator Professor Dr. Mozahar Ali addressed the programme. Divisional Heads of UGC, GTI officials, among other, were present.
Addressing the programme, UGC Chairman said a national level training institution would be established for professional development of the university teachers. He also said university teachers should inspire students to learn and not only teach the subject.
Professor Mannan said teacher’s community has to play a great role to take the country forward. He also said GTI has been producing skilled and accomplished manpower in the country by conducting the training programme.
Professor Yousuf Ali Mollah urged the young teachers to concentrate on research activities and to remain at educational institutions during the office hours.
A total of 25 participants from different universities took part in the UGC financed training course.
